WOOLWICH ARSENAL FC

Before WOOLWICH ARSENAL FC moved to Highbury, North London (from Woolwich), The Gunners was a bit of a yo-yo club flitting between the top two divisions. On this day in 1904, the club played its first ever top-flight match, after winning promotion from Division Two, the previous season. Their first fixture in the First Division, on this date involved hosting Middlesbrough at Plumstead. This was the first time a team from "Southern England" appeared in Division One. Can you name the rest of the Division One teams!! (or look them up!!)

J. Bowman and Andrew Ramsay made their one and only appearances for the club, while Jock Sorley made his final appearance before moving to Middlesbrough later that year.
