CONSECUTIVE VICTORIES

Chelsea go to Tottenham on Wednesday and should they win, they will equal the record of the most number of consecutive wins in the top flight of English Football.

Arsenal hold the record at the moment with 14 consecutive victories between 10th February 2002 to the end of the season and then they won their next fixture at the start of the new season beating Birmingham 2-0. The record stopped when West Ham forced a 2-2 draw. Chelsea's success in one season is another landmark.

Arsenal won 13 in a row in 2001-2. Other records include Manchester United winning 11 consecutively from March to August 2000 and then added another against Newcastle at the start of the new season winning 2-0. their next game was a drawn match v Ipswich.

Chelsea ran in 11 wins between April and September in 2009, under two different managers. Interim manager, Gus Hiddink, oversaw 5 wins at the end of 2008-9 and Carlo Ancelotti 6 as Chelsea went on to do the Double in the following campaign.

Manchester United amassed 11 victories between December 2008 and March 2009, the run ended when Liverpool beat United 4-1 at Old Trafford. Liverpool did the same between February and April in 2004 and Manchester City also recorded 11 wins between April and September 2015, with 6 wins and then 5. It did not stop Leicester from winning the PL.

Manchester Utd won 14 on the trot in the Second Division in 1904-5. Bristol City matched that in 1905-6 and Preston NE did the same in 1950-1 also in the Second Division.

Spurs won 11 games from the start of the 1960-1 season and went on to do the Double and nothced up 31 wins in the season, They drew 4 more and lost 7. COYS!
