TO CAP IT ALL!!

Of courseSpurs hold the record for supplying the most England internationals with 80, following Djed Spence’s first cap in the recent September international break. The North London side has supplied internationals across decades, with notable players; Harry Kane, Gary Lineker and Glen Hoddle. 

1st-Tottenham Hotspur with 79 internationals, has provided the most players for England as of the time of writing. The most capped Spurs player of all time is, of course Harry Kane, who currently has 87 caps. The club and England’s all-time leading goal scorer is now with Bayern Munich.

The most recent England player provided by Tottenham is James Maddison in 2023. Hundreds of players have represented the England national team since the Three Lions’ first-ever international match back in 1872. All eyes will be on England’s next two international matches against Malta and North Macedonia on Friday, 17th and Monday, 20th November 2023. 

2 – Aston Villa & Corinthian FC: 76 Players Aston Villa and Corinthian FC are second on this list, having both provided 76 players for the England National Team over the years. However, it is important to note that Corinthians no longer exists, having ceased to exist in 1939.

Villa’s most capped player is, ironically, current England Head Coach Gareth Southgate, who got 42 caps during his playing career. Southgate played for Aston Villa from 1995 to 2001. The most recent Villa players to have been called up to the England national team are Ollie Watkins and Ezri Konsa in 2023.

3 – Liverpool: 74 Players The top three in this list starts with Liverpool, who have provided no less than 74 players for England at the time of writing. Steven Gerrard is the Reds player with the most senior caps for the Three Lions, with 114 caps in his career. The most recent Liverpool players to have been called up by England are Trent Alexander-Arnold and Jordan Henderson (who has since left the club) in 2023.

4 –Manchester UnitedArsenal and Everton70 Players each, are joint fourth on this list, having all provided 70 players each for the England senior national team over the years. Starting with the Red Devils, the player with the most caps is the club’s all-time leading goal scorer, Wayne Rooney, who has 120 caps – only Peter Shilton has more (125). 

The most recent Manchester United players to have been called up by England are Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw and Marcus Rashford in 2023.

As for Arsenal, Ashley Cole, who played for them from 1999 to 2006, is the Gunners player with the most caps with 107. The most recent players provided for England by the North London club are Eddie Nketiah, Declan Rice, Aaron Ramsdale and Bukayo Saka in 2023.

Finally, the most capped player to have been provided for England during their career is Goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, with 56 Caps. The most recent Everton player called up for England is Pickford in 2023.

5 – Chelsea: 55 Players We are now at the halfway point on this list, and Chelsea has provided the fifth most players for England’s senior team as of the time of writing, with 55. The Blues player with the most caps is club legend Ashley Cole, who got no less than 107 caps to his name during his illustrious career. The defender is closely followed by Frank Lampard (106 caps), the club’s all-time leading goal scorer. The most recent Chelsea players England has called up are Levi Colwill, Conor Gallagher, Ben Chilwell, Cole Palmer and Reece James in 2023. Palmer is, however, yet to receive his first cap.

6 – Manchester City: 52 Players 52 players have been provided to England over the years, and the player with the most caps is Frank Lampard who got 106 caps. The Chelsea legend played for the Cityzens in the 2014/15 season, making 32 appearances for the club. The most recent Manchester City players called up by England are Kalvin Phillips, Jack Grealish, Phil Foden, Kyle Walker and John Stones in 2023.

7 – Blackburn Rovers: 48 Players. Seventh comes current Championship club and 1994/95 Premier League Champions, Blackburn Rovers, who have provided 48 players for England as of the time of writing. The player who has had the most caps for England and who played for Blackburn is Bob Crompton. Crompton played for the club from 1902 to 1914, getting 41 caps for the Three Lions.The most recent Blackburn Rovers player to be called up for England is Stephen Warnock and Daniel Bentley in 2008.

8 – West Bromwich Albion & West Ham United: 45 Players each West Bromwich Albion and West Ham United are in joint 8th place on this list, providing 45 players each for the England national team over the years. The player with the most caps for England, who has also played for West Brom, is left-back Jesse Pennington, with 25. He played for the Baggies for his whole career, from 1903 to 1922. The most recent player to have been provided for England by West Brom is Goalkeeper Sam Johnstone, who represented the Three Lions in 2021.

As for the Hammers, the player who has played for them with the most England caps is club legend and 1966 World Cup winner Bobby Moore, who got 108 caps throughout his illustrious career. He played for West Ham from 1958 to 1974. The most recent West Ham player to be called up for England is Jarrod Bowen in 2023.

9 – Sheffield Wednesday: 43 Players Sheffield Wednesday, now of the Championship, are next on this list. Over the years, the Owls have provided no less than 43 players for the England senior team. Ron Springett got the most caps of any player to have played for England and Sheffield Wednesday. The Goalkeeper got 33 senior caps for England, and he represented Wednesday for 7 years from 1959 to 1966.

10 – Southampton, Derby County & Newcastle United: 39 players each We start with Southampton, Derby County and Newcastle United, who have provided 39 players each for England. Legendary Goalkeeper, Peter Shilton got 125 caps for England throughout his career and played for both Southampton and Derby County. He was with the Saints from 1982 to 1987 and the Rams from 1987 to 1992. The most recent player to have represented England at Southampton is right-back Kyle Walker-Peters, who still plays for the South Coast Club. As for Derby, the most recent Derby player to play for England was Seth Johnson in 2000.

As for Newcastle, the player with the most caps who has played for Newcastle is the Premier League’s all-time leading goal scorer, Alan Shearer, who got 35 caps for England between 1996 and 2000. The most recent Magpies players to be called up for England are Callum Wilson and Kieran Trippier in 2023.

As for Corinthian, the player with the most caps provided to England by the club was Jackie Burns, with 16.
