THERE WILL BE BLUEBIRDS OVER.....

In the 2012-13 season the Bluebirds, yes Cardiff City FC, were re-branded by their Asia owner Vincent Tan. He made the club change their colours from blue to what is considered lucky in Asia, red. It seemed a good idea since Wales play in red but this was not received with enthusiasm by the Cardiff crowds. For a 3rd Round FA Cup tie
Vincent wanted to raise the image of his club in Asia and so the Bluebirds, Cardiff, turned out in red kit and just under 4,200 made the effort to watch the game.

On January 10th 2015 Cardiff reverted to their familiar blue and guess what 22,515 celebrated by watching their team beat Fulham 1-0 in the Championship.
There was a compromise with Cardiff sporting red in the event of a clash. There is a hint of red! Can you spot the difference?

In 2010 Tan took over the club's finances and wished to stamp his authority in South Wales, including changing the club badge to a dragon replacing the bluebird. Aaargghh! Apparently this was part of the agreement for him to invest $162 million into the club! Read the flag!
cardiff protestsCardiff City FC was originally known as Riverside FC when founded in 1899. They joined the Southern League in 1910 and the Football League in 1920. They are of course the only club outside England to win the FA Cup.....1927!  Beating Arsenal!
They lost 0-1 to Sheffield United in the 1925 Final and again 0-1 to Portsmouth in 2008. They also lost to Liverpool in the Football League Final 2012.
