CORINTHIANS

It's not every day that a football fan meets a "Corinthian" Club. I know of several; The Corinthian Casuals FC, from South London, probably one of the most famous historic clubs, if not THE most famous club; The Corinthians of Sao Paulo, Brazil, named by English colonials from the original Corinthian Casuals FC, who took football (literally took a football on the boat) to Brazil
This afternoon, in Milnthorpe, Cumbria, I visited the Corinthians FC, who play in the West Lancashire League. I happened to be venturing forth to Windermere and surroundings, when the car miraculously  headed towards a nearby playing field which hosted the local cricket club and this little gem of a pavilion! (the bar was not open)
Both the 1st and 2nd team play in the West Lancashire Football League. League Div 1 and Reserve Div 2 respectively.

The club has been around circa 1887, but the current club was reformed in 1927 and became Milnthorpe Co

This tells you much of what you need to know. They play in the West Lanc League Division One.
The club is affiliated to The Westmorland FA and competes in the County Junior Cup and Senior Cups.

And thirdly, Sport Club Corinthians Paulista, is based in Sao Paulo, Brazil, although competing in a number of different sports, Corinthians is mostly known for its professional football team, that plays in the  Campeonato Braseilerie A, the top tier of the country's leagues, as well as in the Campeonato Serie A1, the first division of the traditional in-state competition.

Founded in 1910, by five railway workers inspired by the London-based Corinthian FC, the Corinthians Paulista, has become one of the most successful Brasilian clubs, having won the national title 7 times, in addition to 3 Copa trophies,1 Supercopa do Brasil and a record 30 Sao Paulo State championships.

On the international stage, the club won the inaugural FIFA Club World Championships in 2000 and 2012 (beating Chelsea in the final) after being crowned Copa Libertadores de America champions for the first time that same year.

The club's home kit traditionally features white shirts and black shorts, accompanied by white socks. Their traditional crest was introduced in 1939 by modernist painter Francisco Rebolo, featuring the State's flag in a shield, two oars, and an anchor representing the club's early success in nautical sports. Since 2014, Corinthians has played at their own Arena, one of the venues in the 2014 World Cup, having hosted the opening game on 12 June 2014 and a total of 6 matches during the tournament.

The club was listed by "Forbe" in 2017, as one of the most valuable football clubs in the Americas worth $576.9 million.

The club is one of the most widely supported teams in the world and the second most in Brazil, with over 30 million fans. Below is Rivellino, the greatest Corinthian?

The Corinthian-Casuals FC, in England, now plays in the Isthmian League Premier, the 7th tier of the English Football League.
It is an amalgamated club made up from The Corinthians and a "junior" club The Casuals, an amatuer club founded in 1882, mainly by Public School boys. The idea was to gather the best footballers in the country and to beat Scotland in the annual internatiional fixture. It worked!
The club filled English football with fabulous players, including 86 interationals and evangelised the spirit of the game across four continents (including South America). To this day, Brasilians come to visit the Corinthians home ground at Tolworth, South London, a stone's throw from the A3.

The club also sends out weekly, a "Veterans" XI to play the footballing schools, mainly in the south-east of England and of course were hosted by Charterhouse annually, maintaining a strong link between the school and the famous club.

The club has its own clubhouse which serves a selection of ales on match days along with a kitchen serving teas , coffee, pies etc.
