December 18th 1937 George Hardwick didn’t have the best of Football League debuts. Playing for Middlesbrough against Bolton at Ayresome Park in the old First Division he scored an own goal with his first touch of the ball in the first minute of the match! The final score was 1-2 watched by 21,000.
December 18th 1954 In the First Division match between Chelsea and Leicester City at Stamford Bridge Leicester defenders Jack Froggatt and Stan Milburn each struck the ball at exactly the same time to send it past the Leicester 'keeper to record a 'shared own goal' in Chelsea's 3-1 victory, the only such goal in Football League history, witnessed by 33,000.

Tommy Widdington is the new manager at Kings Lynn FC and he had to find a "telly" last weekend to watch his son strut his stuff in the "Strictly Come Dancing Semi-Final". Kings Lynn, the Linnets, beat relegation rivals, Dover Athletic 2-1, on an occasion when Widdrington returned to the "dug out", replacing Ian Culverhouse who was sacked last weekend.
As this was going on, Widdrington's son Kai, a professional dancer, was preparing to take the floor with his partner AJ Odudu, at Strictly.
But thus weekend, Odudu and Kai have pulled out of the Final after consulting medical advice on AJs ankle injury. Odudu said: “I’m deeply upset that I am unable to perform in the final due to a torn ligament in my right ankle.
