TOP GOALSCORERS: PAST AND PRESENT

Anyone remember Terry Bly of Norwich City? He was a Football League top season goalscorer scoring a record 54 goals in the latter's inaugural Football League season of 1960-1.Terence Geoffrey Bly was born 22 October 1935 and died 24 September 2009. 

He was renowned for his goalscoring prowess, most notably for Norwich City and Peterborough Utd. He then played for Coventry City and Notts County before joining Grantham in October 1964. Although he retired from playing in April 1970, he continued to manage Grantham Town until 1978. Bly died on 24 September 2009, as a result of a heart attack.

On 5th May 1979, Norwich City finished the season with a 1-1 First Division (then the top division) draw against Nottingham Forest at Carrow Road. It was their 23rd League draw of the season - a record for a 42-match League season.
