September 12th 1992: "The opening line of Nick Hornby's book "Fever Pitch" was published on this day and it was a football book everyone thought they had written about themselves!! It was sign that how well the author had encapsulated the realities of living throught the rigours and realities of being a football fan.
"I fell in love with football, as I was later to fall in love with women! Suddenly, inexplicably, uncritically, giving no thought to the pain or disruption it would bring with it."
Does this hit a spot? Have you heard of the book? If not... go find one!
