In the English Football League: Simon Weaver, a player ONLY at one club (1996-2012), Harrogate Town lately in League 2, has managed there for 13y 144 days and is the longest serving manager in the top four divisions. Weaver was appointed as the player manager of the Conference North club on 20 May 2009. After becoming manager his father, Irving, became chairman and "the Weavers have transformed Harrogate from sixth-tier strugglers to National League high-flyers challenging for an English Football League place". In May 2018, the team won 3–0 in the playoff final against Brackley Town to reach the National League, for the first time in their history.

On 2 August 2020, Weaver led Harrogate to the EFL for the first time in their history as they beat Notts County 3–1 in the National League Play-Off Final at Wembley. On 12 September, his team won 4–0 at Southend Utd in the club's first-ever Football League match.

Gareth Ainsworth had managed at Wycombe Wanderers in League 1 for 10 years and 18 days.

John Coleman has been at Accrington Stanley in L1 for 8 years and 24 days.
