IT'S SATURDAY AND A FRY UP

I'm in a rush so this is a quickie. I'm off the Repton today. It's a village in Derbyshire that has grown around the local "Public" School-independent school, the place where Will Hughes gained an education. He played against Charterhouse once as a 5th former, in an U18 school game at ours-we won. Nick Orr (OC) may remember his last ditch tackle to thwart Will on one of his rampages?!!!!
Today's game is an Arthur Dunn Cup tie between the Old Carthusians and the Old Reptonians. Dunn was one of the great pioneers of Victorian football!

Repton has a very good reputation for sport and other disciplines, exams, music, historic buildings on their site....and my favourite Old Reptonian is not Will, but C.B.Fry. This video tells you about him, but as an all rounder there will not be better!

Do watch video, there are some classic pieces of film.
Look at how high up the bad handle CB holds the bat. Have a look at the wickets, his batting gloves.

He also played table tennis with a dessert spoon and he was a very good footballer, playing for thre Corinthians and earning ONE England cap. If you get to appreciate his commitment to sport, work and society then you will realise he had little time to represent his countty!
