GRAND NATIONAL-Fowl play.
Today, 2020, the VIRTUAL Grand National has just been run. Lots of fun, no idea what went on, a horse won, my bets went awol.
On all fours in Liverpool, on the 3rd April in 1999, was Robbie Fowler who having scored from the penalty spot after 15 minutes, scored against Everton in the Premier League. To celebrate he adopted the above pose and he was in front of the opposition fans, so he chose to irritate the Everton fans who had been giving him stick about his publicised "drug habits". He did it twice!!
Fowler scored twice in a 3-2 victory for the Reds, so manager Gerard Houllier claimed he was mimicking "eating grass", but this didn't save Fowler from being fined a record £32,000 and banned for 4 matches. In the Grand National today, the prize was not won by a nose.
