OUR BOYS

England play Iceland today in the European Nations League; Iceland was the smallest nation in the World to gain a World Cup berth in 2018. The FA of Iceland joined FIFA in 1947 and UEFA in 1957, presently ranked 39th in the World. Playing at Laugardalsvollur, their first match there was in 1957 v Norway. The largest crowd at the stadium was in 2007 at a concert!

Iceland FA was founded in 1912 and their first international match was in 1930 v The Faroe Islands. Nicknamed "Strakarnir Okkat", they are known as "Our Boys".

OUR brave boys including Rooney, Hart, Smalling, Ali, Kane and many others earning prestigious amounts of money for playing for England at the game their nation invented. They met Iceland in the Euros on 27th June 2016 in Nice, in front of nearly 34,000, on a day when Britain voted to leave "Europe" four days earlier. Rooney scored a penalty after 4 minutes; they replied after 6 and England lost 1-2...."possibly the greatest calamity in English football"-Dan Roan. This may remind you.....
