Happy 65th birthday to new BBC chair, Richard Sharp. He's planning to work four days a week, and give his £160k pa salary to charity. Internally, BBC executives generally prefer those who opt for three days a week, or less, and ideally, those who don't pay much attention at all.
Where will he base himself ? 'Old' BH, where some panelled rooms still exist, or 'new' BH where one is more closely observed by the hoi polloi, even if nestled a warm cocoon of management assistants ? Mr Sharp's legacy to his time at the Royal Academy is the Richard Sharp Council Room (below decked out for a social event). Hard to replicate in Broadcasting House.
