TAKE A WALK DEAN

2006 on Fair Play Day, Bradford City stiker. Dean Windass joined in the FAs celebration of Fair Play, by grabbing Cheltenham Town's John Finnigan's testicles, showing a true understanding of THE MEANING OF THE DAY. The victim replied by clumping Deano on the head and duly was sent off.

It was apt for Windass to celebrate the occasion like this and he is also the only player to have been sent off three times during a single match! This was achieved at Aberdeen where he picked up three red cards in his first season in Scottish football. One against Dundee, another at Dundee United and the third against Motherwell. Dean went on to amass the same haul in the following season, in 22 minutes! He did this in a match at Dundee United, confirming that there must be something in the "water" on Tayside that causes an imbalance in his head!!

The first booking was after one minute, another after 21 more minutes when Dean flew into a meaty challenge earning himself another caution! Referee, Stuart Dougal sent him packing following two cards. BUT Dean didn't go quietly, choosing to launch into a robust one-sided chat with the ref, using some fruity language, and qualifying for a straight red. Dean left the field in a raging stew, ripping the corner flag out of its socket and chucking it on to the floor. The ref lifted another red card follwong that show of anger!

This led to a total of 22 penalty points which equated to one per minute on the pitch and so he was suspended for seven weeks. Aberdeen lost the match 5-0, manager Roy Aitken was sacked as a result but Dean's petulance was not necessarily cited as an influencing factor, however, as the Dons were already 3-0 down after 21 minutes, 60 seconds before Dean walked away!
