Some "Double" Acts are joyous and meant to be; others don't quite work. Simon and Garfunkle, Little and Large, John and Paul, The Chuckle Brothers....I could go on!
"But then one night in Ro-ome, we were strong, we had grown", so sang Baddiel and Skinner...remember them? It was their 1998 FIFA World Cup version of "Three Lions"...the duo referring to the match on this day in 1997 in which England needed a draw, away in Italy to qualify for the upcoming tournament...only needed a 0-0 away in Italy!! Gascoigne was superb, Ince did his Terry Butcher and ended playing in a blood stained shirt (wouldn't be allowed today!).....England hung on for a 0-0 draw...that's all they needed!
"Three Lions", commonly referred to as "It's Coming Home" or "Football's Coming Home", is a song by the English comedians David Baddiel and Frank Skinner and the rock band the Lightning Seeds. It was released on 20 May 1996 through Epic Records to mark the England's participation participation in the UEFA European Championship which England was hosting.
The music was written by the Lightning Seeds singer Ian Broudie, while Baddiel and Skinner—presenters of the football comedy show Fantasy Football League—provided the lyrics. All three provided vocals. The title comes from the England team emblem.
Both the original version of "Three Lions" and the updated "Three Lions '98" reached number one on the UK Singles' Chart. It regularly reappears in the UK singles chart around major football tournaments involving the England team. Its accompanying music video was directed by Pedro Romhanyi. Go on enjoy yourself! Hope it works for you....

Peter Schmeichel, arguably United's best goalkeeper announced that he would be leaving Old Trafford at the end of the season on this day in 1998..."I have had a fantastic career and I owe this to the club, players, fans and I want to finish off on a successful note", Which of course he did, winning the European Cup Final as his swansong and the Treble was won too.
