WHEELCHAIR RUGBY AND ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL

I watched the Women's WORLD Wheelchair Rugby League yesterday on TV and today I have just watched ONE OF today's MENS' fixtures, live, this one between Scotland and France, at the EIS Sheffield. Wow, the matches had some big hits and brilliant play at full speed, huge courage! There is of course a Male section too. The competition is continue on TV tonight.

Soccer has it's Wheelchair Competition too! In its 17th season, The Wheelchair FA's National Football League competition includes Premiership and Championship divisions with 24 teams competing over 11 weekends. Teams play "on the road", in a round by round knock out, played at St George's Park, as part of the FA Disability Cup Weekend. There is of course promotion and relegation.


Seasons run from September to June, with each team playing 22 matches (playing all 11 other teams twice) over five weekends.  2022/23 Premiership Dates:

  • Week One – September 9th & 10th, 2022
  • Week Two – December 10th & 11th, 2022
  • Week Three – March 18th & 19th, 2023
  • Week Four – April 15th & 16th, 2023
  • Week Five – June 3rd & 4th, 2023

All Premiership fixtures are played at the Lee Westwood Sports Centre in Nottingham Trent University’s Clifton Campus. Here are the top level PREMIERSHIP competitors:

AFC Bournemouth Warriors, Aspire PFC, Brighton & Hove Albion PFC, Leeds PFC,
Northern Thunder, Nottingham PFC Sevenoaks PFC, Teesside PFC, Villa Rockets, WBA Throstles and West Bromwich Albion.
