RYAN GIGGS-THAT GOAL AND SOME MORE

On this day in 1999, at Villa Park, on this day, football fans were remarking on two major issues; the first was Manchester United's, Ryan Gigg's wonder goal and the second??? you guessed it, Ryan's chest "rug"!!! which was on full display, as he whipped off his club shirt in celebration, running the full length of the pitch in the FA Cup semi-final clash with Arsenal. The goal, blasted past the very capable Gunner goalie, David Seaman,  set United on their way to an historic Treble and the goal was voted number one "of all time" in a poll. Here it is! the rug, I mean!!

David Beckham scored an early goal for Manchester United, with Dennis Bergkamp equalising in the second half. Roy Keane, United's captain, received a second yellow card and was sent off for a bad tackle on Marc Overmars (nothing new there then!). After Phil Neville fouled Ray Parlour in the penalty box, Arsenal were awarded a penalty. Bergkamp's shot was saved by Peter Schmeichel, taking the game to extra time, where Patrick Viera gave the ball away to Ryan Giggs, who scored a sensational solo goal, dribbling past five Arsenal players to give United a 2–1 lead and send them through to the 1999 FA Cup Final. The match was the last ever FA Cup semi-final to go to a replay
