THE LEIGH ARMS-GOODISON

Ooops, a day late.....on 22nd March 2014, The Leigh Arms is in the shadow of Goodison Park, where hospitality is abundant and Cains beer not very expensive. On the 14th, The Toffees minted the Swans 3-1  that afternoon. Visitors send many thanks to those intrepid home fans who were so hospitable. They admired the sharing attitude of the landlord, giving wall space to both the wonderful "top" Merseyside clubs.

On the same day, in 1951, Referee Arthur Blythe abandoned the Newport County v Norwich City Division 3 South (????) game when the home side was leading 5-1. So incensed was the crowd that he had to be smuggled out of thre ground dressed as an ambulance man...otherwise he might have needed one!
