In 1993, The England Under 18 team took on and comfortably beat the Dutch 4-1 at the Bescot Stadium, Walsall, in the European Championship. The stand out player was youngster Julian Joachim. Born in 1974 in Peterborough, 26 years later, at 44, Julian is still playing, although he may have "retired" a couple of times. He earned 9 England U21 caps and helped the U20s to Third Place in the FIFA World Cup in Austria. After trying to change his allegiance to St Vincent and the Grenadines which failed, he managed to get a World Cup Qualifier with St Vincent in April 2000.
This week Julian has entered into an unusual and adventurous transfer, the most challenging in his 22 year long career. He has been mentioned before.......

Last season playing at Aslockton and Orston FCin the Nottinghamshire Senior League Julian scored 34 goals and announced himself ready for top-flight football once more. Now he is off to the Rock of Gibraltar. His most recent club will be Europa Point, so far to the west of the continent, that he is almost in Brexit.
His debut season was with Leicester City in 1992-3 and his performance warranted a future that would "develop into one of the best forwards England has ever seen." So said chief development officer at the Foxes, Sammy Chapman. Julian score The Foxes' first Premier League goal in 1994.
He made a £1.5 million move to Aston Villa in 1996 playing in the FA Cup Final in 2000, but that is where his promotion ceased and he also had no further international award.
In the Football League, he played at Coventry, Leeds, Walsall, he wandered around Boston Utd and Darlington and his non-league career continued at Kings Lynn, Thurmaston Town, Quorn, Hinckley Utd, Holbeck, Coalville Town, Radcliffe Olympic, Holwell Sports and Shephed Dynamo, where he continued to create and finish chances. Very much East Midlands based, The Leicestershire Round?.
Forming "Forty something Goalscorers Anonymous" he would find that 43 year old Jamie Cureton who played PL from 1994 has become the top scorer in the 7th Tier. Remember Barry Hayes? At 46 he is still knocking them in under the shadow of Windsor Castle in the Hellenic League.
With a physique based on speed, Julian seems to be holding up physically and with nearly 30 years of practice, he reckons he has mastered the game. Entering his 28th season, Julian may be thousands of miles away from home, but he is not going to the Rock to admire the view, but to play Premier Division football. Europa Point, founded in 1925, plays at the Victoria Stadium and has some serious English sponsorship with links to Chesterfield FC and Bantu Rovers in Zimbabwe! They manage to appear in the Europa League (not their "own" league but the real Europa one).
In 2001 Julian appeared in the US TV crime drama, "Hannibal".
