OLD FIRM 100+
On May 27th 2000 Rangers, then in their pomp, met Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup Final and won 4-0. Aberdeen had beaten Rangers previously in the season. Here is the 1877 Scottish Cup winners.
The victory over Aberdeen made Rangers the first club in the world to win 100 major trophies (what ever that means). They started the season with 98 trophies in the cabinet. Since then, there have been a dozen or so more "awards".
Founded in 1872, the club has a long history of success among the "less challenging" Scottish leagues and cups, but they did win the European Cup Winners Cup in 1972 beating Moscow Dynamo. They have been "runners-up" in Europe 4 times in history
There have been 48 League titles, 28 Scottish Cup wins, 21 Scottish League Cup wins, also. The 2000 League title was decided on April 22nd 21 points clear of the rest, including Celtic.
Here is a short reminder of Rangers at their best;
