COUNTIES COUNT; PLACES UP FOR GRABS

England Internationals in history since 1872 have been born in the
North 806 and South 367 although the divide is debatable of course.
In the following counties:
Greater London and City 189, West Midlands 93, Greater Manchester 92, Lancashire 81, South Yorks 75, Merseyside 71, Tyne and Wear 63, Durham 46....I could list Surrey at 14, West Sussex at 4 etc.....
None from the Isle of Wight or Rutland.

38 come from outside England including Wilfred Zaha (Ivory Coast), Owen Hargreaves (Canada), Tony Dorigo (Australia) and Terry Butcher (Singapore) to name a few.
Matt Le Tissier and Graeme Le Saux come from the Channel Islands.

John Bain born in Scotland played for England in 1877, Rob Jones of Liverpool from Wrexham and Fred Green in 1876 both wore the England shirt despite being born in Wales.

SEVEN YORKSHIREMEN-they are:-
Danny Rose from Doncaster, Fabian Delph from Bradford, John Stones from Thurlstone, near ME and Barnsley, Jamie Vardy-Sheffield with Harry Maguire and Kyle Walker and Gary Cahill (Dronfield).
