THE ROYAL SEAN DYCHE
The Royal Dyche, overwhelmed by the "Royal" wedding, Sean Dyche has deserved this accolade and generous gift by a pub near Turf Moor, Burnley. The "Princess Royal" Pub is named after the successful Burnley manager. Landlady of 5 years, Justine Lorriman, has set the tone but I am not sure how long the free drinks for Sean, will go on for! Last November the aim was for the Clarets to be guided into Europe (well the Europa League) having been promoted to the Premier League in 2015-16.
The draw for the Europa "League" is on June 19th in Nyon so the Burnley boys will be torn between getting excited about their new venture or watching their mates in the World Cup.
To prepare the club for the new season's challenge, Sean and his boys are going to Ireland to play Cork City on July 13th, for a pre-season...free Guiness? It is the club's first opportunity to play in European competition for over 50 years (since 1966-7) and to celebrate, local drinkers are treated to pie and peas and live music. Pre-season includes a game against Preston NE, Macclesfield and Montpellier. The new season begins on August 11th.
